Funny Faces
Your face tells stories—some you choose, some you don’t. It holds tension, habit, identity. But what if, just for a moment, you let all of that go? This practice is about breaking the mask, letting go of seriousness, and seeing yourself beyond the face you present to the world.
A Practice of Release
Find a mirror. Stand before it. Drop the need to look good, to be composed. Instead, begin to move your face—stretch it, squish it, contort it into the silliest, wildest expressions you can. Stick out your tongue, puff up your cheeks, wiggle your eyebrows.
Let the body join in—strike ridiculous poses, make strange gestures, be as absurd as possible. Watch yourself, but not with judgment. Watch with amusement, with curiosity. See how easily you can transform.
If laughter comes, let it. If awkwardness appears, move through it. This is not about performance—it’s about permission. The permission to be silly, to be free, to be untamed.
When you’re done, stand still. Look into the mirror once more. See yourself beyond the face, beyond the expressions, beyond identity. See yourself, not as something rigid, but as something truly alive.
